Insider tip: There's a reason people line up to board the Maid of the Mist: the popular boat ride offers amazingly up close and dramatic views of the falls--close enough to require raincoats, handed out on deck. The Maid's dock is across the street from the hotel. Other compelling views can be found at Niagara Falls State Park and from the Cave of the Winds, beneath the Bridal Veil section of the falls.
