Hotel Information: Just off busy Broadway, the Radisson Martinique occupies an 1898 building designed in the opulent French Renaissance style. The architect also designed the Plaza Hotel and the Dakota luxury apartments, where John Lennon lived. The vast lobby features the original mosaic floor. A winding marble staircase with the original wrought-iron railing spirals to the 18th floor. The hotel is popular with vacationers, tour groups, businesspeople, and convention-goers.

Martinique Café, adjoining the lobby, serves American favorites, including a generous breakfast buffet. The independently owned Kum Gang San is accessible from the lobby mezzanine; both are open 24 hours a day. Central Park, about 1.75 miles from the hotel, encompasses 843 acres of meadows, woods, cliffs, ravines, gardens, paths, and lakes in an emerald setting. Popular walking and running routes include Central Park Drive (closed to traffic during scheduled hours) and the path around the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Reservoir. The Loeb Boathouse, on a picturesque lake, offers rowboat and bicycle rentals. The Wollman Memorial Skating Rink has ice-skating in the winter, in-line skating during the warmer months, and splendid views of the park and city year-round.
