Hotel Information: The Whitney - A Wyndham Historic Hotel does nothing to hide from its business and leisure clientele the locale’s previous existence as a bank: The registration desk retains a decorous teller screen, there's an enormous vault (available for private entertaining) in the lobby, and hallways are lined with artistic prints that evoke the building's history as a center of commerce. An active bank branch, complete with tellers, is even on the main floor.
Insider tip: This New Orleans hotel is around the corner from one of the city's oldest oak-lined public squares, Lafayette Square. Between April and June, a free concert series, called Wednesday at the Square, is held here. This mini-festival offers food from some of the city’s well-known restaurants as well as vendors selling art and other products.

The Whitney - A Wyndham Historic Hotel features 93 guestrooms decorated in a pecan/caramel color theme, with painted walls (rather than standard wallpaper) and floor-to-ceiling drapes. Desks come standard with Herman Miller Aeron ergonomic chairs, and the raised beds have high wood headboards. Beds feature pillowtop mattresses, duvets, triple sheeting, and feather pillows.
