Hotel Information: With the only television located in the Great House at the resort's entrance and the only town located eight miles away, this resort appeals to families and couples desiring a tranquil, secluded holiday. A 200-yard long lawn promenade flanked by rows of palm trees leads to the beach. Yellow cottages are set amid flowering gardens spread out from the resort's central area.
Amenity highlights: Guests relax in hammocks, lounge chairs, and wood-shingle shelters on the wide, quarter-mile-long Atlantic Ocean beach fronting the resort. Up a gentle slope overlooking the beach, a sundeck with cushioned lounge chairs borders a 60-by-20-foot rectangular swimming pool. A 20-by-20-foot shallow children's section is attached to the main pool.

The resort has an illuminated tennis court and a croquet lawn. Use of snorkeling gear is complimentary. A 60-by-20-foot rectangular pool with shallow children's section is bordered by a sundeck. On Tuesday nights, guests may join in a hunt for land crabs, which are raced on Wednesday nights to benefit the local school, then released unharmed. Located on a quarter-mile-long stretch of sandy beach, the quiet Nisbet Plantation Beach Club was originally built as a sugar plantation in 1778. An avenue of tall palm trees leads from the original plantation’s 18th-century great house and sugar mill down to the beach. The resort offers an illuminated tennis court, swimming pool, croquet field, and beachside bar that hosts a complimentary weekly rum-punch party. A shop sells resortwear and gifts. Although guestrooms don't have televisions, there is one in the Great House's game room.

Great House Restaurant - Second floor of former sugar plantation's rebuilt stone-wall 1778 great house. Two dining rooms with white-wood ceilings, fans. Outdoor seating on screened veranda with ocean view. Appetizers include beet carpaccio with star fruit, pumpkin croquette, and orange-vanilla syrup; and chicken tortellini with wild-mushroom cream, spinach, and truffle oil. Main courses include grilled marlin with flambéed plantains, roasted veal with root-vegetable fricasse and garlic jus, and soy-marinated roasted pheasant with breadfruit gratin and spicy pineapple salsa. Open for dinner only. Dress code: long pants, collared shirts for men. Afternoon English tea on ground-floor terrace at weathered-wood tables.
Sea Breeze Restaurant - Casual, colorful, open-air beachside wood building with seating under wood-shingle shelters. Open for lunch only. Menu features seafood chowder, conch fritters, pizza, burgers, sandwiches, and salads. Complimentary Thursday night rum-punch party with West Indian band.
Coconuts - Open-air, weathered-wood restaurant next to pool featuring colorful gingerbread trim, bamboo chimes, Atlantic Ocean view. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Thursday night West Indian seafood and barbecue buffet with live band.
