Hotel Information: Built in 1883, the original building now houses the lobby and restaurant, richly adorned with Victorian decor. Guest suites are located in two newer buildings. With its relaxed, tropical ambience, lush, native-plant gardens, and gorgeous sunset views, Olde Marco Island Inn is great place to relax and enjoy Marco Island.
Amenity highlights: The Inn's grounds and gardens create a charmed version of paradise, with a heated swimming pool for more active guests. The Inn itself is restored with tropical Victorian decor. A new addition to the Inn is Bistro Soleil, ensconced in the 120-year old original building, which offers fine French cuisine.
Insider tip: The Briggs Nature Center on Shell Island Road has a half-mile boardwalk through a section of Florida's endangered scrubland ecosystem, home to the scrub jay and the gopher tortoise. Operated by the Conservancy of Southwest Florida, the center offers ranger-guided nature excursions and a self-guided canoe trip, with canoes for rent.
Rooms
The resort has 51 spacious, non-smoking suites in two five-story buildings with exterior corridors and an elevator. Guestrooms are painted in bright Caribbean-inspired colors, offer water or garden views, and all have large, screened lanais as well as kitchenettes.
Suites also provide queen sofa beds in separate living areas. The one-bedroom suites have one bathroom, two TVs with cable, and some have VCRs. Two-bedroom suites have two bathrooms, three TVs with cable, and may include VCRs.

Recreation
The hotel has a heated outdoor pool. The hotel fitness center is closed until further notice.
Public access to Tigertail Beach is less than two miles from the hotel or less than five minutes by car. Popular activities on the island include fishing (charters are available), shell-hunting along the beach, swimming and sunning, bicycling, sailing, and scuba diving. Water-sports rentals are also available. There are several nature preserves in the area as well, offering opportunities to observe native animals, including alligators and birds.
