Hotel Information: This three-floor Hilton is located atop the 17-story Place Bonaventure in Montréal's city center. Built for the 1967 World's Fair, the hotel has a large lobby with bar, restaurants, and conference rooms opening onto a rambling rooftop garden. Popular with business travelers during the week, and families on weekends, the hotel offers easy access to underground shops and the business district.
Amenity highlights: The rooftop garden off the lobby has a stream, waterfalls, trees, paths, and groups of resident ducks, all reminiscent of Québec's Bonaventure River. Insider tip: A one-block walk west takes you to Le 1000 de la Gauchetière, a modern office tower housing Atrium Le 1000, a year-round, 10,000-square-foot indoor ice-skating rink. The atmosphere is cool in summer, warm in winter and the rink has changing rooms, equipment rentals, fast-food counters, and rest areas. The rink is open every day until early evening. Saturday is family skate day.
