Hotel Information: Built in 1937, the Park Central Hotel offers a classic Art Deco lobby of pink and green terrazzo, artisan ironwork, retro-style ceiling fans, and potted plants. Leisure travelers mix with fashion-shoot crews and models. The hotel’s chic sidewalk restaurants draw patrons from throughout South Beach.
Amenity highlights: A heated outdoor pool with sundeck adjoins a small, flower-filled sculpture garden. A rooftop garden with a whitewashed-wood deck, potted plants, and cushioned teak lounge chairs overlooks the beach. Beach access is across the street through palm-dotted Lummus Park, an expanse of lawn and sand. Two beach chairs per room, plus beach towels, are complimentary.
Rooms
Guestrooms are in three six-story buildings along Ocean Drive. All Park Central rooms feature featherbeds with soft, lightweight duvets. Art Deco period decor includes custom furniture and black-and-white photos of 1930s Miami Beach. Many rooms face the beach and ocean (not guaranteed).
Wireless Internet access is complimentary. Flat-panel HDTVs come with cable channels. In-room safes accommodate laptops. Ceiling fans supplement air conditioning.
