The palapa-covered buildings are spread along an estuary and on the beach, just a short rowboat ride away. Each unit (palafito) has a small solar generator, powering a ceiling fan. At night, hundreds of candles and torches light the public areas, walkways, and rooms. Each July, sea turtles make their way to Hotelito's beach to lay their eggs, and a biologist helps oversee the hatching and fight-for-life process, supported by Hotelito staff and its guests.
