The Sebel Melbourne comprises studios and apartments with kitchenettes, sitting areas, dining tables, and work desks. Furnishings and appliances include double sofa beds, washing machines and dryers, tea/coffee-making facilities, safes, and minibars. TVs with pay movies, DVD and CD players, direct-dial phones with voice mail, and high-speed Internet access are also provided. Bathrooms have combined bathtubs and showers. Standard bedding consists of feather-down pillows and duvets; blankets are also available on request as an alternative to duvets. Smoking apartments/studios are available on level 1 only.

Renovation Notice

From April–August 2007, all studios and apartments will undergo a soft refurbishment, involving new carpets, painting, and some new furnishings (including wide-screen TVs). One floor at a time will be closed off while the refurbishment is completed. The hotel will make every effort to minimise construction noise and related disturbance. Completion dates subject to change.

Recreation

The Melbourne Sebel has a fitness centre with treadmill, stationary bicycle, rowing machine, and fixed weights. The centre is open from early morning until late, and can be opened outside these hours upon request.

Guests have the complimentary use of the indoor pool at sister property Quay West Suites, approximately 1 km from The Sebel. The Melbourne City Baths are a similar distance away, on the corner of Swanston and La Trobe Streets. For guests who require jogging and walking tracks, the Treasury Gardens are a little more than 1 km from the hotel, and Fitzroy Gardens are 1.5 km away. Flagstaff Gardens, to the north, and Southbank promenade, further south, are 1 km from The Sebel. Approximately 3 km away is Albert Park, encompassing some 225 hectares of sporting and recreational facilities for jogging, walking, cycling, swimming, diving, netball, tennis, squash, cricket, indoor cricket, soccer, baseball, hockey, lawn bowls, boating, golf, and table tennis.

Business centre: Located on the mezzanine level, the centre comprises two workstations and a printer. Guests have 24-hour access. Facsimiles may be sent via the front desk for a small surcharge. Basic secretarial services are available; however, these should be arranged with the conference/function department at least two days in advance.

Internet access: Wireless Internet access is available in public areas, such as the lobby, restaurant/bar, and meeting rooms (surcharges apply). High-speed, wired Internet access is available in the business centre for a surcharge.

Conference/function rooms: Two function rooms are located on the 1st level. The Bank Room is 88 square metres in size and accommodates up to 80 people for a cocktail-style function. The Boardroom has an area of 32 square metres and comfortably accommodates 12 people at a boardroom table. The Mezzanine area provides additional space for up to 100 people for a cocktail function. Conference equipment includes an overhead projector and screen, whiteboard, flipcharts, TV, and video facilities. Driving directions from Melbourne International Airport (MEL): Exit the airport and take the Tullamarine Freeway, following sign-posted directions to the city. After approximately 12 km take the Bulla Road exit. After approximately 1.5 km, Bulla Road becomes Mount Alexander Road, which becomes Flemington Road. Continue to the end of this road, where there is a roundabout. Turn right here into Collins Street. Travel down Collins Street for approximately 200 metres. The hotel is on the corner of Collins and Queen streets.
