The 107 guest suites are located on floors 3–6 of the six-storey Como, with views over the stylish Chapel Street shopping and restaurants strip or Central Green park area. A wide variety of configurations are available. Guestrooms have been styled in strong browns and beiges, with contrasting accents of white provided by the crisp bed linen and pile rugs. Most offer a separate bathtub and shower, though some have a shower only or combined bathtub/shower. A few also offer a balcony; some nonsmoking rooms are available. Fax machines, DVD players, VCRs, and computers are available on request.

Recreation

In addition to a 12-metre heated pool (with retractable roof for inclement weather), a full fitness centre, sundeck, spa, and sauna are located on level six and may be accessed via guestroom key from during limited hours. A barbecue located on the sundeck is available upon request for use during pool opening hours.

Within 0.5 km are the popular jogging/walking tracks within Melbourne Botanic Gardens and along the Yarra River. In addition, right outside the hotel is the Chapel Street /Toorak Road tram stop for easy access to the city centre (5 km) and St Kilda Beach (3 km). The Como Hotel is a 107-guestroom boutique hotel with a contemporary, minimalist style. The hotel is connected, via the lobby and secured doorway, to the Como Centre, which includes an ATM, hairdresser, and beautician. On the hotel’s sixth level, guests will find a 12-metre heated pool (with retractable roof to account for unseasonable weather) and sundeck, in addition to sauna and spa.

A courtesy weekday morning limousine service operates between the hotel and the city centre and St Kilda Road. A book and CD library is available via the concierge (no charge but fully a refundable deposit is required). Hotel lifts are guestroom-key activated. Complimentary shoe-shine service is also available.

Instructions: Exit Tullamarine Airport and drive to Tullamarine Freeway. Continue until the Bolte bridge (two large pylons). Here, turn left onto Westgate Freeway. When approaching Burnley Tunnel, take the small side lane on the left (Power Street) leading into the city. At the second set of lights take a right onto City Road. Continue (passing under the Arts Centre and St Kilda Rd bridge) and the road becomes Alexandra Ave. Following the Yarra River (on the left), continuing along Alexandra Ave. At the Chapel Street and Alexandra Avenue intersection, take a right. Pass the car park approximately 300 metres down Chapel Street and then turn left into The Como. Rental cars are available online.

The Brasserie - Located on mezzanine level. Open for breakfast from early morning until mid-morning on weekdays and until Noon on weekends. Specialising in fresh, seasonal foods. Continental buffet and hot á la carte menu.

So Bar - Adjacent to the lobby and open from early evening until late. Intimate, quiet bar. Popular for meetings or a relaxing drink.
