Rooms

The Oaks on Collins comprises 269 apartments, with the vast majority located on floors 5–18. All apartments have premium bedding such as cotton sheets with duvets. Other amenities include desks with high-speed Internet access (surcharge), voice mail, and multi-line phones. TVs with pay movies are also included. The apartments also feature full kitchens with ovens, microwaves, four-ring cooktops, dishwashers, refrigerators, toasters, and kettles.

Recreation

The Oaks on Collins offers a fitness center on level three. Two treadmills, two bikes, a wide range of free weights, fixed weight machines, and a rowing machine are on offer. A fitness trainer can help with personal sessions by prior arrangement (surcharge). There is also a 10-metre outdoor lap pool and sauna on the same level.

A fitness center within 100 metres of the hotel offers aerobics and fitness classes. The scenic track along the Yarra River, some 0.5 km from the hotel via King Street and the Kings Bridge, is popular with joggers, cyclists, and walkers.

Business centre: The large business centre on level three features six workstations, a high-speed Internet kiosk (surcharge), and three photocopier machines. The centre is staffed from early morning until early evening on weekdays. General secretarial and business services such as faxing, photocopying, personal assistant/secretarial hire, couriers, and postal services are offered (surcharges apply). In addition to the expansive function room centre on level one, the business centre comprises three corporate boardrooms (with widescreen TVs) which seat from 10–15. Each room offers an abundance of natural light and looks out onto the pool terrace area.

Internet access: High-speed Internet access is available for a surcharge in the business centre across level three and also in the business suites on level four. Wireless Internet access is available in conference/meeting rooms, restaurant, and bar on level one for a surcharge.

Conference/function rooms: Nine function rooms located on level one. Oaks 1 is the smallest at 42 square metres and seats up to 22 guests, boardroom-style. Oaks 1, 2, and 3 can combine to form the largest function space of 184 square metres, seating up to 160 theatre style or approximately 220 for cocktails. Complimentary newspapers are provided in breakout areas outside function rooms.

Business suites: For guests in need of an office away from home, the Oaks on Collins offers six private business suites on level four. The majority are designed for 1–2 persons, although the largest can accommodate eight (with as many workstations). These spaces can be hired for varying periods from one day through to six months or more. Driving directions from Melbourne International Airport (MEL): Guests should exit the airport and take the Tullamarine Freeway, following sign-posted directions to the city. After approximately 12 km, they should take the Bulla Road exit. After approximately 1.5 km, Bulla Road becomes Mount Alexander Road, which becomes Flemington Road. They should continue to the end of this road where there is a roundabout. They should turn right here into Elizabeth Street., and travel down Elizabeth Street for approximately 1.6 km. Guests should then turn right into Collins Street. The Oaks on Collins is approximately 850 metres on the right (after crossing William Street at a major intersection marked with traffic lights).

Instructions: Must be pre-booked with hotel, preferably when booking accommodation. Return transfers can be booked with concierge. Schedules and directions (subject to change without notice): Skybus shuttle departs the airport for the central business district at regular intervals. Guests should ask the information desk staff in the arrivals hall about the pickup point outside the airport. The nearest drop-off point is right outside the Oaks on Collins in Collins Street (opposite the Rialto Towers).

Dining

Latitude 480 - Located on level one. Open for à la carte breakfast and dinner daily. Modern Australian fare with regular menu changes featuring an international theme. Light meals also available.

The Lounge Bar - Located on level one. Open daily for a wide range of beverages (including coffee/tea) from late afternoon until late evening.

The Russian Vodka Bar - Located on the ground floor. Open daily from late afternoon until late evening. Serves a wide range of beverages, including quality vodka and cocktails.

The International Food Emporium - Located on the ground level. Features: fresh juice/salad bar, Japanese sushi bar, New York-style burger joint, pizzeria (also selling pasta), café, and gourmet sandwich bar. Option of takeaway or dine-in. Open from early-mid morning until late afternoon. Charge-back facility for guests. Four large TVs and complimentary newspapers also provided.
