Hotel Information: From the hot busy streets of the central Torremolinos shopping area guests enter up some steps into the cool and tranquil lobby of the hotel. Leisure travellers and business guests relax on large sofas opposite the brass reception desk in the spacious white marble lobby. With direct access to a tree-lined shopping plaza and just 200 metres from the commuter train station this hotel overlooks the sea and is less than a kilometre walk to the beach.
Amenity highlights: Guests enjoy a complimentary breakfast each morning in the buffet restaurant and barbeques are held by the outdoor pool in the summer. Situated on the rooftop of the hotel is a glass walled fitness room and heated indoor pool from where guests have the chance to take in great views of the sea and city centre. As well as a TV lounge, Internet corner, and games room, the hotel has a poolside bar and coffee shop.
Insider tip: Just around the corner from the hotel guests can browse through Calle San Miguel which offers a profusion of shops, cafes and bars. Or in the former fishing village of La Carihuela, one kilometre away, guests can see fishermen returning in their gaily painted boats with nets of sardines and anchovies which at lunchtime are served skewered on wooden sticks and grilled over a fire on the beach.
Rooms
The Gran Hotel Cervantes features 398 refurbished guestrooms refurbished in 2005 and decorated in light shades with pretty patterned fabrics and mahogany furnishings. Heavy carved wooden doors open into the air-conditioned rooms with wooden parquet floors and headboards are specially carved with the hotel’s logo.
All guestrooms have balconies and feature white tiled bathrooms with shower and tub combinations, bidets, complimentary toiletries and hair dryers. Amenities include direct-dial phones, 21-inch satellite TV, high-speed Internet access, and safes (surcharge applies). The majority of rooms feature sea views or views overlooking Torremolinos and the mountains.
