Property Amenities
Formerly known as The Argyle, this hotel was renovated in 2005, its Art Deco architecture restored. On the building’s exterior facade, landmark Art Deco friezes showcase scenes of pagan goddesses and centaurs, as well as Adam and Eve. The lobby features walnut paneling edged with an inlaid brass rule. The custom woodwork, with its swirling grain and rich patina, is typical of what might have been used in the 1920s. Other design elements include a buffed limestone floor; wool rugs hand-knotted in Tibet; custom chairs in toffee-and-nougat striped silk; suede-upholstered sofas and banquets in dusty rose; tall folding screens covered in suede and contrasting woven-silk trim.
Amenities include a modern bistro, the Tower Bar, and the 7,000-square-foot Argyle Spa, which spans two floors. The spa facility houses a limestone terrace and four treatment rooms, one of which is double-sized for couple’s side-by-side treatments or small groups, such as bridal parties or stag spa outings. Each room is equipped with a flat-screen TV, Internet access, and plug-ins for clients’ personal iPods. The spa also houses the only Turkish hammam wet room in Los Angeles. The heated room is clad in white Italian marble and features a wide slab table on which clients can receive scrubs, wraps, and other wet treatments. The Argyle additionally offers a medical treatment room for Botox, collagen injections, and laser hair-removal, as well as a beauty salon. There is also a separate barber shop where traditional wet shaves and masculine grooming services (hair and nails) are available. Shoeshine services are also offered, along with a cigar humidor.
