Hotel Information: The lobby’s brass-and-nickel fixtures, vaulted ceilings, and piped-in classical music create an Art Deco ambience on the third-floor A Deck; the 1,019-foot ship features original 1930s art, dinnerware, and furniture, as well as other reminders of its maiden voyage in 1936. The eclectic mix of guests includes European tourists, vacationers, bridal parties, and conventioneers.

Daily guided ship tours (surcharge) cover the history–and hauntings–of the luxury liner, and visit its galleries of original 1930s art. Insider tip: From terminals next to the ship, visitors can travel to Santa Catalina Island via ferry (one hour) or helicopter (15 minutes). Accessible via narrow, lacquered-wood hallways lined with handrails, Queen Mary Hotel's 365 staterooms on three decks are individually furnished with Art Deco-era decor and ocean-themed art. Some have portholes that open and offer downtown Long Beach or seaport views. Amenities include TVs and two-line telephones with voice mail. A champagne buffet brunch is served Sundays in the Grand Salon, which was once the ship’s first-class dining room. Food stations serve salads, omelets, seafood, beef, and desserts; dress is business-casual.

Sir Winston’s - Continental and California cuisine are served in semi-formal dining room with panoramic coastal views. Dinner daily. Menu highlights include rack of lamb, roast duck, prime rib carved tableside, and Maine lobster. Extensive wine list.

The Chelsea - Seafood specialties and harbor views are available in this upscale-casual promenade deck dining room. Menu highlights include baked clams, crab legs, and Mediterranean scampi. Dinner, Wednesday through Sunday.

Observation Bar - Cocktails, cheese and crackers, coastal views and occasional live entertainment are offered in the former first-class lounge. Open daily until late evening.

The Promenade Café - This casual restaurant serves salads, sandwiches, pastas, and Angus beef. Harbor views. Breakfast, lunch, dinner. Room service is available from early morning until late evening.
