Hotel Information: Combining Las Vegas glitz with scenic surroundings, Suncoast Hotel and Casino is nestled in suburban Summerlin, the U.S.'s largest planned community. Frequented by locals and vacationers tired of the atmosphere near the Strip, the 10-story hotel and casino complex is decorated in subtle desert tones and bronze windows that blend with the nearby desert and Spring Mountains.
Amenity highlights: The Suncoast has a heated pool, spa tub, 24-hour fitness center, and game room. There are 10 separate dining temptations as well as a 16-screen theater, a 64-lane bowling center, and live stage shows. The casino has table games, slots, video poker, a sports book, and bingo. The hotel offers complimentary scheduled shuttle service to the airport.
Insider tip: At least once during your visit, set an early alarm, grab your camera, and drive through the painted sands of nearby Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. Route 159 (W Charleston Blvd) winds for 13 miles through the heart of the canyon before returning to the south end of town. In the canyon, view amazing rock formations and perhaps a hawk or golden eagle, rabbits, and wild burros.
