Hotel Information: The Sahara opened in 1952 and was one of the first hotel casinos in Las Vegas. Compact for easy access to all facilities and attractions, the hotel draws guests seeking less noise and the slower pace of a different era combined with modern amenities such as a business center and wireless Internet access (surcharges).

Amenity highlights: A sundeck, palm trees, and fountains surround the Sahara Las Vegas Hotel’s 5,000-square-foot seasonal pool. Next to the pool, a large spa tub is set beneath a filigreed wrought-iron dome. Cabana rentalas, and bar and towel services are both available.

Thrill-seekers and NASCAR fans covet the simulated race cars and indoor roller coaster, while nostalgia buffs head for the Congo Room to hear the Platters, Coasters, Marvelettes, and other legendary musical performers.

The hotel's fitness center, located on the 27th floor of the Tangiers Tower, features a variety of equipment, including two treadmills, two elliptical machines, two recumbant bikes, and a multi-purpose hydraulic weight unit. Each cardio machine is equipped with an individually remote-controlled 7-inch LCD TV monitor.

An independently owned and operated hair salon within the hotel’s shopping area also provides spa services (surcharges). Skydiving and helicopter tours are popular with Las Vegas visitors. Numerous golf courses operate in the Las Vegas area.

Entertainment

The Platters, Coasters, and Marvelettes return to the stage in the legendary Congo Room with some of the top 20 hits from the 1950s and 1960s. Performances every night.

Appearing in the Sahara Theater, Fab Four Mania performs many of the Beatles' greatest hits, including "I want to Hold Your Hand," "Help!," and "Yesterday," along with music from the Rubber Soul and Revolver albums. Performances nightly except Sundays.

Also in the Sahara Theater, The Musical History of the King captures Elvis Presley’s stage presence and energy, portrayed and delivered by Trent Carlini. Performances nightly except Sundays.

Stock cars and Indy cars, in smaller versions of the real thing, race around a simulated track in the 35,000-square-foot Las Vegas Cyber Speedway adjacent to NASCAR Café. A 20-foot wraparound screen provides realistic sight and sound, while each car's hydraulic base furnishes realistic motion.

Launched from inside NASCAR Café, Speed - The Ride is a thrilling roller coaster that passes through an underground tunnel, around a loop, and through the hotel's marquee before stopping 224 feet above ground and then reversing itself.

One of Las Vegas' first true lounges, the Casbar Lounge opened in 1954 and continues to present nightly entertainment from smooth jazz to rock and roll.

Comprising 85,000 square feet and featuring an enormous glass chandelier and elaborately decorated columns, the Casino offers slots, video poker, blackjack, craps, roulette, keno, a poker room with daily tournaments, and a race and sports book.

Club Sahara offers complimentary membership cards that reward slot play with cash and comp rooms, meals, shows, and services.
