Special Check-in Instructions

Reception hours of operation: 7.30 AM to 9 PM Instructions: The resort requires one passport for safekeeping for each room booked. No other forms of identification will be accepted. Signage at the front desk provides directions to the staff room for after-hours assistance. Guests can also call for assistance from telephones in the guestrooms.

Rooms

The 78 stand-alone cottages of the Koh Tao Coral Grand Resort are set against a backdrop of palm trees or are situated on the beach. Cottages feature Thai-style peaked bamboo ceilings and polished coconut wood floors. All have furnished balconies, air-conditioning, ceiling fans, and cable/satellite TVs with HBO, CNN, and ESPN channels. Telephones are for internal calls only, and international calls can be made at the front desk. Other amenities include complimentary bottled water and toiletries, and coffee/tea making facilities.

Recreation

The Koh Tao Coral Grand Resort has an on-site PADI dive centre with a team of multi-lingual dive instructors. The centre offers activities ranging from PADI discovery dives to rescue diver courses as well as dive programs for children. A complimentary dive lesson in the pool is provided for first-timers. The resort’s 28 metre (90 foot)-long cruiser can accommodate up to 20 divers for overnight dive trips (surcharge applies).

Other recreational options include kayaks (surcharge), volleyball, and a beachfront pool. Massage services are available on the beach or in guestrooms. For joggers, Sairee Beach, in front of the resort is dotted with palm trees and a few impressive boulders. Local vendors with long tail boats can take guests to the near by Koh Nang Yuan Island for snorkelling (20 minutes by boat; surcharge applies).

Located on Sairee beach, the Koh Tao Coral Grand Resort features 78 cottage-style guestrooms spread out onto palm-fringed grounds. The resort has a private beach, and the on-site PADI dive centre has several multi-lingual dive instructors, and a wide range of dive programs for adults and children. In addition to an Internet room with three workstations, wireless Internet access is available in the lobby (surcharge applies). A welcome drink coupon entitles guests to a fruit juice at the restaurant/bar located next to the pool and beachfront. Complimentary parking is available for motorbikes only.

Location Details

Samui International Airport (USM): Approximate travel time is two hours and 30 minutes and distance is 85 nautical kilometres.

Getting there: The most convenient way to get to the resort on Koh Tao Island is to book the land and ferry transfers via the hotel. The hotel will arrange a boat company to transfer guests from Samui International Airport to the pier, plus a two-hour ferry ride, and land transfer to the resort. The last ferry departs Samui for Koh Tao Island at noon, and guests must arrive into Samui at least one hour prior to ferry departure. From Koh Tao Island, the last ferry departs at 3 PM and guests should arrange onward flights for after 6 PM to allow for any unexpected delays. The resort requires one passport for safekeeping for each room booked. No other forms of identification will be accepted. Motorbike rental vendors do not offer any insurance and a passport is mandatory for safe keeping throughout the rental period.

The best time for diving in Koh Tao is from February to May, and July to October. The island of Koh Tao is still a densely forested area and all precautionary inoculations are recommended. Ferries travel to and from Koh Tao Island and the mainland of Samui twice daily. Arrival and departure flights must be coordinated to fit the ferry schedules.
