Travel Details

Alpenhof

Hotel Information: International flags flutter from the hand-carved balconies of this Tyrolean-style building, located just 50 yards from the Bridger Gondola in picturesque Teton Village. A brass chandelier illuminates the small, stone-floored lobby, and a Bavarian cuckoo clock marks the hours. Sam, the innkeepers’ golden retriever and “director of guest services,” is often on hand, welcoming guests.

Amenity highlights: Swiss cuisine is the specialty at the Alpenrose restaurant. Highlights include cheese fondue, Chateaubriand of Bison “Maytag,” and dark-chocolate fondue. A tile fireplace, porcelain chandeliers, and beamed ceiling—all with delicate hand-painted motifs—set a romantic mood. The après-ski Alpenhof Bistro offers its signature Hof Mary cocktail and German beers. The hotel also offers an outdoor heated pool, spa tub, and in-room massage service.

Insider tip: The Walk Festival Hall, about 50 yards from the hotel, hosts the prestigious Grand Teton Music Festival each summer. The Festival Orchestra, an all-star ensemble of leading musicians from around the country, headlines the series. Tickets for weekend performances should be purchased in advance by phone or e-mail; tickets for weekday concerts usually can be purchased in person at the box office.
