Hotel Information: One floor up from the street level, the quiet lobby is decorated with several large plants and a water sculpture next to a curved stairway leading to the second floor. Chandeliers provide warm yellow lighting. Mostly families and couples on holiday frequent the hotel.

Recreation

The hotel’s fitness center, located next to the swimming pool, is about 26 square meters and has two treadmills, a free-weights area, and one stationary bike. Open from early morning till night. The outdoor rooftop pool is open from early morning till 10 PM, from April to December. It is 20 meters long and surrounded by deck chairs and some tables. Drinks and light foods from the room service menu can be ordered poolside.

Aerobics, yoga, and other exercise classes are conducted at the California Fitness Center in Arran Plaza about 1.5 km (1 mile) away. A basketball court is at Pui Ching Road, opposite the hotel. Within walking distance along Yim Po Fong Street is a public children’s playground. Tennis, racquetball, and squash courts can be found at Austin Road’s Kowloon Park, about 4 km (2.5 miles) away.

Getting there: Airport shuttle service is available from the Hong Kong Hotels Association Counter, service counter B17, at the airport arrivals terminal (surcharge). A Metropark Hotel representative will be present. The shuttle bus departs every 30 minutes from 6:15AM to 11:45 PM. Taxis and Airport Express trains are also available.

Getting around: The Metropark Hotel provides complimentary shuttle services to nearby Tsimshatsui and Mongkok. The best way to get around and beat traffic is to take the subway train. The hotel is about a 10-minute walk from the nearest subway station.

Know Before You Go

The government of Hong Kong has waived the Hotel Accommodation Tax for all new bookings made from now for travel July 1, 2008 until further notice. The 10% service fee still applies.
