Recreation

The Mira Hong Kong has an indoor 25-meter swimming pool that is mildly heated throughout the year. Its 92-square-meter (1,000-square-foot) fitness center (per-visit surcharge) looks into the swimming pool through full-length glass walls on one side. It has three treadmills, a rower, one recumbent bike, one elliptical trainer, a stair stepper, and a free-weights section. Personal trainers are on duty. Two sauna rooms are also offered.

Aerobics classes are offered at nearby malls within 100 meters of the hotel. Basketball, tennis and volleyball courts, a playground, and a running track, are all available at Kowloon Park, about 1 km (0.5 mile) away. Hong Kong International Airport (HKG): Approximate travel time is 45 minutes and distance is 34 km (21 miles).

Getting there: The most cost- and time-efficient way of getting to the hotel is via Airport Express train, which departs from the airport every 12 minutes and stops at major city stations. Limo transfers can be arranged with the hotel at HK400–900 per trip (US$51–$116).

Getting around: Taxis are easy to hail from along the street or at the hotel. The city’s subway system (MTR) is also convenient especially during peak-hour congestion on the streets. The nearest MTR station is one block away. The hotel also provides limo services at about HK200–500 per trip (US$25–$65).

Trains depart from just beyond this area every 12 minutes from 6 AM to 11 PM. Exit at Kowloon; the hotel is at the corner of Nathan and Kimberley Roads, across from Kowloon Park.

Schedules and directions (subject to change without notice): The daily shuttle service (shared service) departs every 30 minutes from the airport, from 6:15 AM to 12:15 AM. Know Before You Go

The government of Hong Kong has waived the Hotel Accommodation Tax for all new bookings made from now for travel July 1, 2008 until further notice. The 10% service fee still applies.

The Ballroom - A 1,500 square foot pillarless ballroom accommodating up to 800 guests. 18 handcrafted chandeliers and 25,000 lighting combinations make this venue an ideal location for celebrations and other events.

Yamm - An all-day dining restaurant serving Japanese and International cuisine. Live cooking stations for a la minute specialties are operational during lunch and dinner and a tableside buffet is also available.

Dong Restaurant - Features a wide range of classic and nouveau Cantonese fare prepared with the freshest ingredients. A variety of sumptuous dim sums complement a fine selection of freshly brewed Chinese teas.

Room One - A stylish lobby bar and lounge with a casual atmosphere. Room One serves signature cocktails and bar food and features an eclectic mix of music from resident and guest DJs.

Coco - A cafe-patisserie serving artisan chocolates, take-away coffees, freshly-baked pastries, cakes, and designer cupcakes.
