Hotel Information: A huge mural with 200,000 pieces of gold inlay, reflecting the luxurious lifestyle of imperial China, sets the tone behind the reception counter in a lobby that is dotted with Chinese artifacts and large floral displays. Red lanterns hang from a ceiling reminiscent of the Forbidden City as Chinese and international business guests come and go. Beyond lie the gardens, with a humped bridge, carp-filled ponds, and a six-story waterfall.
Amenity highlights: The Garden Hotel has nine restaurants and public areas decorated with Chinese artworks. The comprehensive business center includes conference and meeting rooms. A swimming pool and children's wading pool, table tennis, tennis courts, and a fitness center provide recreation, as does a shopping arcade offering fashion labels such as Aquascutum, Escada, Boss, and Cerutti.

Just 2 km (1.2 miles) west lies a more traditional area of narrow lanes filled with neighborhood shops and locals on bicycles, centered around the ancient Temple of the Six Banyans.
