Hotel Information: The Sanibel Sunset Beach Resort is aptly named, as the resort’s 350-foot-long private beach faces some of the most spectacular sunsets on the island. Guests include families attracted to the resort’s recreational amenities and couples who appreciate romantic sunset strolls along the shore.
Amenity highlights: The resort serves a complimentary Continental breakfast, with pastries fresh from a local bakery. Recreational facilities include a large, heated outdoor pool; a tennis court; and two shuffleboard courts. Guests desiring to venture off site and explore the island enjoy complimentary use of resort bicycles. Use of chaise lounges for beach sunbathing is also complimentary.
Insider tip: The non-profit Bailey-Matthews Shell Museum, 2.5 miles away, features exhibits of mollusks from around the world. A learning lab in the museum has a hands-on play area for children and a tank with indigenous mollusks. Admission is free for children 4 and under, $4 for ages 5 to 16, and $7 for adults 17 and up (fees subject to change).

Recreation
The resort has its own 350-foot stretch of private beach and offers complimentary chaise lounges for sunbathing. Sanibel Island is famous for its shell-strewn beaches; beachcombers are likely to be rewarded with striking specimens of the island’s many indigenous mollusk species.
A heated outdoor pool, surrounded by chaise lounges, is one of the largest on the island. Adjacent to the pool area are two shuffleboard courts and a tennis court. Tennis rackets and balls are provided by the resort.
Guests receive discounts at the semi-private Dunes Golf and Tennis Club, five miles away. The back nine of the Dunes golf course is an Audubon-sanctioned wildlife preserve, where many species of native wildlife can be observed. The club also has seven Har-Tru tennis courts.

Situated on about four tropically landscaped acres, the resort fronts 350 feet of private beach with spectacular views of the sun setting over the Gulf of Mexico. The J. N. "Ding" Darling National Wildlife Refuge, home to many native species of birds, reptiles, and mammals, is within two miles, as is Periwinkle Way, the island’s “main street,” with galleries, restaurants, and boutiques. The Dunes Golf and Tennis Club, where guests receive discounts, is five miles away.
Continental breakfast and use of bicycles are complimentary. The resort's outdoor pool is one of the largest on the island. Wireless Internet access is complimentary.
