Marriott Harbor Beach Resort & Spa is large enough to be both tranquil and lively. Tranquility is exemplified by a floral-flavored marble lobby washed by gentle waterfall sounds. Liveliness takes the form of all-day family activities and myriad water sports.
Amenity highlights: The private beach is accessible by wood stairways leading over a low dune. Because it's private, the beach offers exceptional space for the beach bar, lounge chairs, and volleyball games. Bordered by rock-waterfall gardens, the lagoon-style pool provides an alternative to the beach. Above the sand on a sprawling deck are 50 private beachfront cabanas (surcharge) shaded by palms and equipped with showers, TVs, ceiling fans, and lounge chairs.
Insider tip: A public "water bus" transports passengers around Fort Lauderdale's inland waterways from mid-morning to after midnight, stopping at 20 locations such as restaurants and shopping centers. One stop is only two blocks from the hotel. The water bus runs on a schedule, which is available at the concierge desk. Ticket options include a bargain-price all-day fare.

Guestrooms feature Marriott’s Revive Collection bedding: 300-thread-count linens with white-and-beige design; down comforter with cotton cover, freshly laundered for each guest; six down pillows, including bolster; and separate mattress topper.

The hotel offers five lighted tennis courts, a basketball court, and a dive shop. Scuba-diving lessons are conducted for children as young as 5 (surcharge).
