Hotel Information: This Florida Keys resort comprises 87 privately owned vacation cottages, each with standardized décor and amenities. The resort maintains a tranquil ambience, and is geared mainly toward families seeking a tropical beach getaway, a variety of activities, and a smoke-free environment. Guests can request pre-arrival grocery service (surcharge).
Amenity highlights: Set on 12 lushly landscaped acres, Tranquility Bay Beach House Resort features a seasonal tiki bar next to a private white-sand beach that stretches 1,100 feet. Water sports equipment is available on the beach, and a variety of excursions can also be arranged (surcharges). Activities are scheduled for children ages 3–12 (surcharges). A large grassy area and lagoon-shaped pool are also on site. A casual café and bar are open year-round.
Insider tip: Crane Point Museum, Nature Center, and Historic Site is also home to the Marathon Wild Bird Center. The center’s mission is to rescue and rehabilitate injured and orphaned baby birds, which will eventually be released into the wild. A number of surviving birds have risen to the rank of “public ambassador,” helping to educate the public about their needs and hazards that affect them.
Rooms
Each privately owned vacation home at Tranquility Bay Beach House Resort contains two furnished balconies and has views of the lagoon pool or the Gulf of Mexico. All homes have separate living and dining areas and two bathrooms.
Gourmet kitchens with granite countertops include full-sized refrigerators, stoves, microwaves, dishwashers, coffee/tea makers, blenders, toasters, cookware, dishware, and utensils. Each home also has a washer and dryer.
Amenities include 42-inch plasma-screen TVs, 27-inch flat-screen TVs, DVD players, and stereo CD players. HBO and pay movies are provided.
High-speed and wireless Internet access are both complimentary, as are local calls. Homes are cooled by air conditioning and ceiling fans.
In-house massage and spa services can be arranged through an independent company. A complimentary newspaper is delivered to the door every day.
Housekeeping provides daily “clean and tidy” service, which includes fresh towels and trash removal. Full-service housekeeping is provided each fourth day of guest stays.

Set on the Gulf of Mexico, this Florida Keys resort provides 1,100 feet of private white-sand beach for swimming and other water sports. Water sports rentals are available on the beach and include personal watercraft, kayaks, parasails, and sailboats. The resort can also arrange sport fishing, scuba diving, and snorkeling excursions (surcharges).
On the lushly landscaped grounds are a large lawn area and a lagoon-style pool. Available to guests 24 hours a day is a fitness center with cardio machines and free weights. Scheduled activities (surcharges) are provided for children, ages 3–12.
