Hotel Information: Carved medieval doors lead guests from a typical, busy Florentine street into a peaceful lobby area decorated with large woven rugs, potted plants in brass urns, and a large mural of Santa Maria Novella piazza. Guests relax on traditional floral-patterned armchairs under original exposed wooden beams and plan their sightseeing while an original 15th-century fountain trickles in the background.
Insider tip: Across the street from the hotel is the Officina Profumo Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella, one of the oldest pharmacies in the world dating back to 1221 when it was established by the Dominican Fathers. The interior is a blend of art and furnishings from through the centuries, and the air is thick with the scent of hundreds of naturally produced essences, pomades and balms on sale.

Rooms
The Best Western Hotel Rivoli features 80 guestrooms spread over its three floors, all of which are accessible via the lift. Due to the historical nature of the building, no two rooms are identical, however all have high ceilings and are decorated in warm tones, with floral drapery and art prints. Tall windows have slatted shutters and overlook the gardens, inner courtyard, or the street below (street-facing rooms are double glazed).
Amenities include dark wood desks, minibars, safes, satellite television, and radios integrated into the bedside tables.
