Insider tip:The first settlers in the Fijian Islands came to Viseisei, on the mainland opposite Malolo Island, in about 1500 BC. They believed Malolo was a place created by the gods where the sun came to rest each night after its daytime journey – hence the sun logo of Malolo Island Resort. The land is still owned by the chief and local villagers.
