Hotel Information: Guests arrive at the Regency Hotel via the 18th-century entrance hall in the old part of the building, featuring oil paintings, period-style furniture and a mahogany staircase flanked by statues. To the left is a reception area and a lounge with red-leather seating, where coffee is served. The hotel is frequented by business guests during the week, and families and leisure travellers at weekends.

Amenity highlights: The Residents’ Bar offers draught beers, televised sporting events and a range of bar food in a traditional pub atmosphere, and features live Irish music three nights a week. The informal Shanard restaurant can seat up to 250 people, and diners can choose from table d’hote and a la carte menus of traditional fare, and dishes influenced by Asian and Mediterranean flavours, such as Pasta Stir-fry with Fresh Ginger and Plum Tomato Sauce.

Since opening in 2002, the Helix has been committed to staging diverse and innovative theatrical productions, and has featured performances by high-profile artists such as Van Morrison, Lesley Garrett and Sinead O’Connor.
