Travel Details

Paramount Hotel

Hotel Information: Guests enter the Paramount Hotel through the large, lively bar on Parliament Street, which is popular with locals, tourists and students, or head directly to reception through the listed façade on Essex Gate. The small lobby sets the tone for the hotel’s rich, retro decor scheme with its dark wood, black-leather panelling and floor-to-ceiling burgundy drapes.

Amenity highlights: The sprawling, multi-level Turk’s Head bar and restaurant is characterised by striking decor drawing inspiration from classical sources and the elaborate designs of the renowned Spanish architect Antoni Gaudi. Stained glass, multi-coloured mosaic tiles, twisted wrought iron, and Art Deco-style murals define the upper areas, while the underground caverns feature Greco-Roman wall paintings and play host to live bands and DJs.

Insider tip: The Temple Bar area is Dublin’s cultural quarter, featuring more than 100 live music venues, clubs and theatres, alongside the Irish Film Institute and numerous restaurants, bars and small, independent shops. Traditional Irish dancing is performed at the Arlington, opposite the hotel, while comedians and contemporary rock and pop artists regularly perform at the Olympia Theatre, 150 metres away.
