Hotel Information: Set within a 128-acre tropical haven of lush greenery, golden beach and marina, the Jebel Ali Hotel has continued to attract an international crowd of couples, golfers and families since opening in 1981. Glass doors lead from the palm tree-lined boulevard into a striking blue marble lobby. Staff-serviced buggies shuttle guests between the various hotel buildings.

Amenity highlights: The nine-hole, par 36, championship standard golf greens are landscaped with exotic trees, shrubs and desert flora, and five of the holes feature a saltwater lake. Insider tip: Dubai’s most ambitious construction project, the Palm Islands comprise three palm tree-shaped man-made islands, the largest in the world. Renovation Notice

The hotel is situated approximately two kilometres from the trunk of The Palm Jebel Ali - the extraordinary man-made island in the shape of a date palm tree. Development of Dubai Waterfront and The Palm Jebel Ali continues to the north west of the resort with land profiling works the predominant activity. Although the island’s crescent and the project's vessels are visible from the resort at a distance, they should not cause visual disturbance for guests. Sounds which resemble distant thunder can occasionally be heard.

Recreation

The resort boasts a nine-hole, par 36, golf course and golf academy with driving range, putting green, and indoor video-analysis swing room. Only handicapped players are permitted to play on the main course; beginners and uncapped players can use the practice facilities and take lessons. Water sports including catamarans, windsurfing, pedal boats, kayaking, and banana boats are available at the private beach (surcharges may apply). Deep-sea fishing excursions depart from the marina. Recreational facilities include a shooting club and archery range; horse-riding centre; volleyball, squash, badminton and floodlit tennis courts; and a gym, billiards room and a croquet lawn. La Fontana - Informal poolside bar and restaurant serving buffet breakfast, Mediterranean and international dishes for lunch, and themed dinner buffets. Guests can dine indoors or on the large outdoor terrace overlooking the pool. Signatures - Decorated in minimalist neutrals, this fine-dining restaurant offers French cuisine for dinner alongside a wide selection of wines from France and around the world. Al fresco dining is also available on the terrace overlooking the pool and gardens. White Orchid - Offering panoramic views of the gardens and the beach, this bamboo and wood decorated restaurant offers a fusion menu of Chinese, Japanese and Thai specialities, with traditional Teppanyaki table.
