Hotel Information: Given its location in the heart of the Denver Tech Center, it's no surprise that that the Hyatt Regency Tech Center- Denver's Y-shaped, mirrored-glass, 11-story hotel attracts a corporate crowd during the week. Guests enter via “Union Station,” the busy, plant-filled atrium lobby that’s named after Denver’s historic train depot. It features an iron clock, double grand staircase, sitting areas, and glass elevator.
Amenity highlights: A glass-enclosed, complimentary health club with an indoor lap pool and spa area also has a large outdoor sundeck, cardio and strength-training equipment, free weights, personal TV monitors, and locker rooms with showers and saunas. Corporate travelers appreciate the business center, which provides fax, copy, secretarial services, and high-speed Internet access (surcharge). A self-service kiosk in the lobby offers expedited check-in.
Insider tip: Transportation in southeast Denver—where the hotel is located—was recently enhanced (November 2006) thanks to the addition of light-rail service as part of the Transportation Expansion Project, or T-REX. The Belleview station, one block away, offers a direct connection to downtown Denver and stops near many local attractions. To avoid rush hour traffic, weekday travelers would do well to use the hotel’s local shuttle (complimentary to destinations within five miles) or public transit system.
