Recreation

Travelodge Mirambeena Resort has two outdoor swimming pools: the Blue Pool and the Green Pool. Both freshwater, lagoon-style pools are central to the resort and surrounded by palms and ferns, plus a variety of lounge and upright-style seating. Both pools also have waterfalls and three-metre-wide spa tubs. A nine-hole miniature golf course is also available (deposit required for clubs and balls). A fitness centre is located in the lower part of resort and contains a treadmill, exercise bicycle, universal weight machine, rowing machine, punching bag, and speed ball. Indoor facilities include a pool table and video games room.

The Esplanade (three blocks from resort) is a popular spot for walking/jogging, while the Gardens Park Golf Links and Garden Tennis Complex are both two km away.

Property Amenities

In addition to its title, which is an Aboriginal word for ‘welcome,’ Mirambeena carries an Australian theme in the resort’s ochre colour scheme, the dominating colour of the Australian centre landscape. This multi-building resort has two swimming pools and a fitness centre. The resort also has three conference/function rooms, a tour desk, and two guest laundries. Dial-up Internet access (surcharge) is available at the reception-area kiosk.

Conference rooms: The three conference rooms are the Bilioara (the smallest room with a seating capacity of 20 in a boardroom style), the Nemarluk, and Bul Bul (both with maximum seating capacity of 70 theatre style). The Bul Bul and Nemarluk rooms can be combined into one large conference suite with a capacity of up to 200 theatre style, or a seated lunch/dinner for up to 120 people. The poolside area is also available for pre-dinner drinks.

Audiovisual equipment: Conference rooms are equipped with several complimentary items including whiteboards, pens, paper, and flipcharts (if required). Large TVs, videos, data projectors, overhead projectors, screens, electronic whiteboards, taping facilities, audio systems, microphones, and faxing and photocopying facilities are all available on request. Surcharges apply; prices on application.

Driving directions from Darwin International Airport (DWN): Turn left onto McMillians Road to Bagot Road. Continue over the flyover, which leads onto the Stuart Highway, which becomes Daly Street on approach to the city. Turn left into Cavenagh Sreet and then left into Travelodge Mirambeena Resort.

Treetops Restaurant - Overlooks the pools, palm trees, and ferns. Serves Continental and cooked breakfast daily. Also open for daily dinner with à la carte Australian menu. Fully licensed with wide range of Australian wines. Raintree Café and Poolside Bar - Located next to swimming pool. Opening times vary according to season. Mainly open for lunch, early afternoon and evening. Also serves snacks and drinks.
