Recreation

Check with the hotel in advance for information about the estate’s salmon fishing, which is organised by the resident ghillie. The estate has its own clay-pigeon shooting instructor and bicycles can also be rented at the hotel. Vintage car trips are available and there is a floodlit all-weather tennis court. La Cascade - Las Cascade restaurant, with its smart-casual dress code, is set in a classical dining room with high ceilings and tall windows overlooking the Sheen Waterfalls. It serves gourmet dishes made using fresh local seafood and farm produce, and has professional sommeliers. Oscar’s Bar and Bistro - With its informal nautical theme, Oscar’s Bar and Bistro overlooks the falls and woodland from its outside terrace and has a modern Mediterranean menu. The Sheen Bar and Sun Lounge - This lounge has classical decor and is in the original 17th-century centre of the hotel. It features views of the Sheen Waterfalls and offers lunches, light snacks, afternoon tea and live piano music in the evening. The Wine Cellar - The hotel’s unique wine cellar is the largest one accessible to the public in Ireland, with more than 10,000 bottles, and is available for tasting, tours and private dinners.
