Hotel Information: This resort is located at Copper Mountain, a popular ski spot gaining a following with destination travelers. The sprawling property offers upscale, slopeside condominiums as well as more basic accommodations. All chairlifts are within a quarter-mile walking distance of guest housing.
Amenity highlights: Amenities include shuttles around the resort and use of the Copper Athletic Club. Each condo/hotel building has ski storage, laundry facilities, and complimentary parking. Most have an indoor or outdoor spa tub. The Village—an après-ski hangout—has dozens of restaurants, bars, a coffeehouse/bakery, ski and snowboard shops, a lake, climbing wall, and Burning Stones Plaza.
Insider tip: Some skiers choose to avoid crowds at the lifts by skipping the Village in the morning; it’s where everyone goes first thing for coffee, breakfast, to meet friends, or to plan the day. Instead, they hop the shuttle to the bases at East Village or Union Creek. Lifts that aren’t often busy include Sierra, Rendezvous, Black Jack, Mountain Chief, and Alpine Chair.
Rooms
This resort offers 800 guestrooms, studios, and condos, all within a quarter-mile walking distance of the lifts (though complimentary shuttles do operate between the Village, East Village, and Union Creek bases). Units provide cable TV and humidifiers; housekeeping is available for stays of five days or more. Daily housekeeping is available for an extra surcharge (due upon check-in).
Gold units feature contemporary designs, warm wood accents, checkerboard kitchen floors, and alpine colors; textures. Gold buildings include Copper Springs, Passage Point, Copper One Lodge, Tucker Mountain Inn, and Taylor’s Crossing. Silver units offer standard furnishings. Silver buildings include the Telemark Lodge, West Lake Lodge, The Spruce, The Greens, and Mountain Plaza.

Recreation
The resort is located at the base of Copper Mountain. All chairlifts are within a quarter-mile walking distance of guest housing, but complimentary shuttles operate continually throughout the resort. Guests also have complimentary use of the Copper Athletic Club, which features a 25-yard pool, weight room, cardio equipment, spa tubs, saunas, and steam rooms.
Summit County, where Copper Mountain is located, offers numerous recreational activities. Besides skiing and snowboarding, winter sports include ballooning, sleigh rides, and snow tubing. Summer sports include hiking, biking, gold panning, ballooning, rafting, and mine tours.
Golf is played at the adjacent Copper Mountain Golf Course as well as the Raven at Three Peaks, 12 miles from the resort, and the Breckenridge Golf Course, a 27-hole Jack Nicklaus-designed municipal course located in Breckenridge, 17 miles from Copper Mountain.
Activities at the Dillon Dam Recreation Area, approximately 12 miles east of Copper Mountain, include boating, sailing, camping, canoeing, fishing, and Nordic skiing.
The Village lies at the base of Copper Mountain, which has a 2,601-foot vertical drop and features 2,433 skiable acres that are neatly and naturally divided according to trail difficulty. The resort’s 125 trails—21 percent beginner, 25 percent intermediate, 36 percent advanced, and 18 percent expert—are accessible by 22 lifts, including one high-speed six-passenger and four high-speed quads. It also features terrain parks for adults and children, and jib parks, including Night Rider, open evenings on Fridays. Copper gets an average of 280 inches of snow each year.
Nearby Breckenridge has a summit elevation of 12,408 and gets an average of 300 inches of snow annually. Its four interconnected mountains—Peaks 7, 8, 9, and 10, each with its own personality—encompass 2,207 skiable acres. These include four terrain parks, four half-pipes, and 772 acres of bowls. The resort’s 146 trails are 52 percent expert/advanced, 33 percent intermediate, and 15 percent beginner; they are accessible by 27 lifts.
Keystone Resort is seven miles from Breckenridge and linked by free shuttle service and interchangeable lift tickets. The resort has a 12,408-ft summit and gets 230 inches of snow annually, and offers 2,870 skiable acres. The 116 trails include 19 percent beginner, 39 percent more difficult, and 49 percent most difficult; they are accessible by 19 lifts, including two gondolas. Keystone is also popular because it stays open late. At the height of the season, 15 trails and a lighted terrain park are open at night.
Also nearby is Arapahoe Basin or, as it’s known locally, A-Basin. It stands 13,050 feet tall and has 69 trails accessible by six lifts. Its terrain park, Mutha’ Hucker, is one of the highest in North America. A-Basin’s season extends from October through June, depending on weather and snow.

The Cooper Mountain Resort comprises dozens of buildings. They feature a variety of condos and guestrooms at three main bases: East Village, which offers access to the Super Bee lift and Tubing Zone; the Cooper Mountain Resort, built around the American Eagle and American Flyer lifts; and Union Creek, a predominantly beginner’s area which features Union Creek lift, a ski/ride school, childcare center, and stables.
The Cooper Mountain Resort, located at the American Eagle lift, is the heart of the resort and offers a dozen restaurants and bars as well as ski/snowboard shops, ski/ride school, the Copper Athletic Club, the CopperCade arcade, West Lake, a climbing wall, and the Burning Stones Plaza.
Cooper Mountain Resort condos and hotel rooms include ski storage, laundry facilities, and parking (heated and underground in gold buildings). Most buildings also have an indoor or an outdoor spa tub. Each gold building has a small fitness room with cardio equipment. All guests have complimentary use of the resort’s Copper Athletic Club. The resort also offers Kids Night Out, an evening childcare program at the CopperCade arcade, and complimentary shuttle service throughout the resort.
The Copper Conference Center, located at the base of the American Flyer lift, offers 15,000 square feet of meeting space with an additional 20,000 square feet available nearby. The Business Center at Copper Mountain, located in the conference center’s lower level, provides high-speed Internet access and other business services (fees apply).
