Travel Details

Hotel Kong Arthur - A Brochner Hotel

Hotel Information: A suit of armour stands sentry at the heavy wood and wrought iron doors of the hotel entrance. Inside, the small lobby is decorated with antique tapestries, dark wood chests and chairs, and a staircase leads up to the first floor. Adjoining the lobby is a lounge where tourists and business guests can relax after a long day, in surroundings inspired by King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table.

Amenity highlights: The hotel has three restaurants. Guests can dine at La Rocca, an authentic Italian café-restaurant; Pintxos, a Spanish restaurant serving tapas; or Sticks‘n’Sushi, a trendy Japanese eatery. All of the restaurants have entrances from the main street, making them popular with locals as well as guests, and La Rocca and Pintxos offer outdoor seating in the pretty cobbled courtyard during the summer months. The hotel's Avalon Spa offers fitness facilities, spa treatments, and facials.

Insider tip: Behind the hotel, Nansensgade is home to boutiques, design furniture shops and bohemian bars and cafés such as Bankerat – “bankrupt” in English – which serves Asian, Mexican and Italian dishes. Bankerat’s bizarre decor includes stuffed animals dressed in suits, and lamps with shades made from discarded dolls’ heads. A movie is screened free of charge every Sunday evening in winter.
