Hotel Information: The Glidden House was built in 1910, in French Gothic style, by an heir to the Glidden Paint Company fortune. Today the mansion displays beautifully preserved features such as hand-carved woodwork and intricate plaster ceilings, along with modern design elements. Eight suites, along with the lobby and lobby bar, are in the original mansion, and 52 guestrooms are located in a 1987 addition.
Amenity highlights: The hotel serves a complimentary Continental breakfast with fresh fruit, hard-boiled eggs wrapped in Canadian bacon, and pastries delivered straight from the oven of a local bakery. Sergio’s, a popular Mediterranean-inspired restaurant, is on site, as is a lobby bar serving tapas and cocktails. A landscaped garden patio with gazebo and umbrella tables offers a relaxing retreat, as does the sitting area around the lobby’s stone fireplace.
