Seneca Hotel & Suites

Hotel Information: Built in 1924, the Seneca retains an old-world ambience, highlighted by its lobby. Polished wood columns and richly upholstered sofas create several seating areas. A carved wood fireplace and shelves displaying plates, vases, and small clocks line the back wall. Two stained-glass windows accent an alcove.

Amenity highlights: One set of stairs above the 17th floor, a fitness center features new equipment including treadmills, an elliptical machine, and free weights. Adjacent is a rooftop terrace set with plants, tables, and lounge chairs where guests enjoy downtown views.

Insider tip: The Seneca is across the street from the John Hancock Center, where guests can celebrate any occasion in the 95th-floor Signature Room restaurant or lounge. The Hancock Center is famous for its superb panoramic views of Chicago.
