Along with its appealing contemporary design, the Amalfi Chicago's location in River North may be its greatest asset. Both the theater district and the Magnificent Mile lie within two blocks. River North itself is a lively district, home to many new restaurants, nightclubs, and art galleries. Concierges, known as "experience designers," are on hand to help guests plan itineraries.
The hotel occupies floors 2-6 of a multi-use building, with an intimate lobby providing street-level access, and a sixth floor "living room" lounge, Ravello, the location of choice for informal socializing. The lounge does not serve cocktails except during the nightly manager's reception, but Keefer's, a steakhouse in the same building, offers full bar service as well as fine dining.
