Hotel Information: Originally built as a training camp for the San Francisco Giants in the early 1960s, this resort underwent an $8-million renovation in 2003. The lobby’s floor-to-ceiling windows overlook the adjacent golf course, which encompasses 135 acres of turf. Located 46 miles from downtown Phoenix, the resort attracts golfers and leisure travelers.
Insider tip: Located 25 miles away, the Casa Grande Ruins National Monument includes one of the largest prehistoric adobe structures found in North America. Guided tours operate from January through April (surcharge).

Recreation
Designed by Ralph Plummer, the resort's 18-hole, par-72 golf course (surcharge) has lush fairways, mature trees, well-manicured greens, and three lakes. At 7,545 yards, the desert-framed course is one of the longest in the state. A driving range and pro shop are on site, and pro instruction is available (surcharge). Guests also enjoy a large outdoor pool and spa tub, a fitness room, and bike rentals.
