Know Before You Go
- Swimming in the surrounding tropical waters in summer can be dangerous due to marine stingers. Always seek local advice.
- The whale-watching season in the Whitsundays is July-September.
- Airlie Beach Lagoon is open for swimming year-round.
- The weekend markets operate every Saturday morning and Sunday afternoon.
- Port of Airlie marina project is underway until (approximately) mid-2009. While construction is 0.5 km (away from the retreat and does not impede views of the Whitsunday Passage, some background noise may be experienced between the hours of 8 AM-5 PM, Monday-Saturday.
