Hotel Information: This six-story hotel was built in 1993 yet has a traditional feel. It appeals mainly to tourists but also draws business travelers, who are attracted by its city-center location. Dominated by a large mural depicting a Mediterranean scene, the high-ceiled lobby has a grand piano, informal wicker chairs, large windows overlooking the busy Boulevard Carnot, and four teak-veneer columns rising from a marble floor.
Amenity highlights: The hotel offers 24-hour use of its outdoor pool all year long, and guests can dine alfresco on the poolside terrace or in the traditional Provencal-style restaurant. Guests also receive seasonal discounted access to a private beach on La Croisette, 1 km (0.5 mile) south of the hotel. In addition, wireless Internet access is available for laptop users and high-speed Internet access is available at a computer on a desk in the lobby.
Insider tip: Leading designers have boutiques on the exclusive La Croisette, 1.5 km (1 mile) from the hotel. But savvy shoppers with more than window-shopping in mind head two blocks north of La Croisette to Rue d’Antibes, where French couture is more affordable.
Rooms
The six-story Hotel Amarante Cannes has 71 Provençal-style guestrooms, each with brass lights and bedside lighting controls. Rooms also offer small armchairs, wicker tables, and wireless Internet access (surcharge).
Original artworks by local artists hang from yellow sponge-painted walls, and suites of Chêne-wood furniture are treated with the dye of the Amarante, a flower local to the region from which the hotel takes its name.
Modern amenities include 32-inch LCD TVs with pay movies and international satellite TV, high-speed Internet ports, minibars, and safes. White-tiled bathrooms have floral friezes, shower/tub combinations, dual-voltage shaver power sockets, bathrobes and slippers, and toilets in separate rooms.

Recreation
The hotel’s 30-foot outdoor lap pool is open to guests all year long. In addition, hotel guests have discounted access to a private beach on La Croisette, 1 km (0.5 mile) south of the hotel.
Throughout the summer, guests can arrange water sports at the beach, which is 1.5 km (1 mile) from the hotel. Water sports include parasailing, Jet Skiing, and water skiing—and the clear Mediterranean waters are ideal for snorkeling. Various sports facilities are available in town all year, and golfers head to the 18-hole course 5 km (3 miles) north of Cannes, where visitors are welcome but advance booking is advisable. Dining
La Farigoule - The traditional French menu at this informal restaurant features local dishes, such as Grilled Leg of Lamb with Provençal Tomatoes and Ratatouille; many choices from the wine list are also available as half bottles. The restaurant has a tiled floor and windows overlooking the pool, and can seat 50 diners inside and an additional 25 people on the poolside terrace. A hot-and-cold buffet breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served every day. The restaurant is closed November 28–December 26 each year.
The Bar - The intimate bar area, with its wood-paneled walls, marble floor, and television is just off the lobby. Guests relax in informal wicker chairs, and coffee and drinks are served every day from early morning until late evening.
