The hotel was designed to reflect the rich Spanish heritage of Mexico, featuring tiled roofs, wrought-iron handrails, fountains, private patios, sculptures, and stained-glass windows designed by Mexican artists.
Amenity highlights: The jewel of the resort is the adjacent spectacular 1,200-foot powdery white sand beach. Recreational options include two pools accented by sculptures, a fitness center, and the Cliff Drysdale Tennis Club with three outdoor courts. Additional amenities include the Culinary Center, the luxurious Kayantá Spa, and several award-winning restaurants.

Rooms
The hotel offers 365 guestrooms, including 50 suites. All accommodations offer views of the Caribbean Sea from private balconies or terraces. Ritz Club-level rooms feature five food-and-beverage services daily in an exclusive concierge lounge, beginning with a full American buffet breakfast. Salads and sandwiches are offered at lunch. Afternoon tea includes pastries. Cocktails and appetizers are served evenings, with live music offered Wednesdays through Saturdays. In a separate top-floor is The Cobalt Lounge (adults only). Located on a 1,200-square-foot stretch of white-sand beach, The Ritz-Carlton Cancun is just minutes from golf courses, upscale shopping malls, open-air markets, restaurants, and nightlife. The Mayan archaeological sites at Tulum, Cobá, and Chichén-Itzá are also nearby.
Inspired by the Mayan phrase, ká a yaán tah, meaning “to be reborn,” Kayantá Spa at The Ritz-Carlton, Cancun is a luxurious retreat offering water rituals, massage therapies, body treatments and facials influenced by pre-Columbian and ancient cultures from around the world. The beachfront spa pampers guests in various treatment rooms and has two Vichy showers. Separate men's and women's sections offer herbal steam rooms, and Swiss and open-air showers; garden patios feature spa tubs and cold plunge pools. Secluded terraces are available for outdoor massages, and hydro-massage tubs are available for infusion baths. A massage suite, designed for both couples and individual guests, is available in a palapa pavilion on the beachfront terrace.
Signature spa services include Lol-Ha, a traditional Mayan bridal bath uses plant extracts, crystals, and flower petals; the Zac-Xib treatment for men includes a vigorous body scrub, and a bath therapy with essential oils and plant extracts prepared as they were in ancient rituals for brave warriors; and the Sacred Piedritas Facial reflects the importance of stones in pre-Hispanic cultural rituals.
A complimentary fitness center features strength-training machines, cardio equipment, and free weights. An exercise studio offers fitness classes such as Pilates, yoga, and kickboxing (surcharges). Two outdoor swimming pools with sun patios and an oceanfront spa tub are available.
A daily kids' club for children ages 4-12 (surcharge) provides supervised half- and full-day activities in a clubhouse. A “Kids’ Night Out” program is also available for evening fun.
The Culinary Center offers interactive cooking classes conducted in a residential-style kitchen overlooking the Caribbean Sea. During each two-hour session, an expert chef shares professional techniques and innovative recipes with small groups of guests (16 guests maximum). In addition to classes, nightly wine and tequila tastings are available.
