Hotel Information: The construction of the Hyatt Regency Calgary in 1998 was an integral part of the urban revival and gentrification of a historic part of the city. The hotel features a blend of high-tech, contemporary design grafted onto refurbished historic buildings that are among the city’s oldest. The dazzling lobby has a mahogany canoe suspended from the ceiling, and 300 works of contemporary Canadian art are displayed in the lobby and on the second floor.
