Rooms

The low-rise Paradise on the Beach resort comprises 34 guest suites on two levels. All feature dial-up Internet access (surcharges via local Internet Service Provider), in addition to shaded, furnished balconies with views of the beach or garden/pool. Studios and suites are outfitted with terracotta tiles, rattan furniture, and timber plantation shutters. All guestrooms are nonsmoking, although ashtrays are provided on the balconies. Studios are serviced on a daily basis, while one- and two-bedroom suites are cleaned thoroughly every four days. All guestrooms are accessible by elevator.

Recreation

On-site recreational amenities include a 12-metre lagoon-style pool and spa tub. The resort also provides a maintained children’s playground on the beachfront. A range of books and games are available at reception.

Right across the road is a year-round swimming beach (with nets erected during the stinger season from April–October), and barbecue facilities. Less than 0.5 km from the resort is a jetty popular for fishing. It is also the pick-up point for a wide range of half- and full-day reef tours, including scuba diving and snorkelling. In addition to water sports, Palm Cove is renowned for its day spas. The championship Paradise Palms Golf Course is 4 km from the resort.

Property Amenities

A 12-metre outdoor lagoon-style pool and spa are located on level one, along with a staffed (licensed) minibar and rinse-down shower. A hotel-maintained children’s playground is directly opposite the hotel on the beachfront. In the lobby, guests will find a tour desk and a kiosk with dial-up Internet access (surcharge). A small library and a selection of games are available at reception for guests to borrow on an honour system. Other amenities include a share laundry, with extra pool/beach towels provided on a complimentary basis at the front counter.

Approximate travel time: 20 minutes

Driving directions: After departing the airport, turn right at the traffic light junction with the Cook Highway and remain on this road for approximately 20 km. Entering Palm Cove, which is sign posted, take the first right into Veivers Road. Travel approximately 1 km along Veivers until it ends and Williams Esplanade forks to the left. Turn left here; Paradise on the Beach resort is located in the heart of Palm Cove shopping village near the post office at number 139 Williams Esplanade.

Approximate cost (subject to change without notice): AU$15 one way per adult

Instructions/details: If arriving on a domestic or international flight, ask at the arrivals information counter for the next available shuttle bus departing for Palm Cove. Alternatively, shuttle bus transfers can be pre-booked with Paradise on the Beach Resort. Resort contact details will be included in the reservation confirmation.

Dining

Apres Bar & Grill - Casual, à la carte dining. Open from early morning until late. Menu features Continental and full cooked breakfast in addition to Italian, seafood, modern Australian, and steak lunch/dinner options. Light snacks, coffee, and alcoholic beverages (including tropical cocktails) also served. Regular theme nights such as Karaoke. Also provides Continental Breakfast Box for in-room dining (per-person surcharge).
