Recreation
Rydges Esplanade Resort Cairns has three swimming pools set among tropical gardens. The main lagoon-style pool has a swimup bar. There is also a children’s wading pool. A fitness centre, with cardio and fitness equipment, a spa tub, and sauna, is located on the first level. Two tennis courts are open for play during daylight hours.
The Esplanade, which the resort faces, is popular for walking and jogging. It also has a skateboard ramp. The area’s beaches offer a wide variety of water-related activities.

In addition, on Thursdays and Fridays, the restaurant presents an open-kitchen lunch-time buffet where pasta is cooked to order. In the evenings, guests may select from the “Fire & Ice” buffet with both hot and cold selections including seafood, or an à la carte menu with a wide range of choices, such as pizza, salad, pasta, steak, and fish.
