Hotel Silken Berlaymont Brussels

Hotel Information: Built in 1996, this eight-story hotel has a photography theme, with vintage cameras prominently displayed, and framed prints by European photographers on most walls. On weekdays, the circular mahogany-and-marble lobby and adjoining café are busy with suited businesspeople. On weekends, leisure travelers are tempted by a Champagne breakfast in the l'Objectif restaurant.

Amenity highlights: Internet access (surcharge) is available at a PC in the business center. Guests can relax in the mosaic-tiled health club, with gym, sauna, steam room, plunge pool, spa tub, and massage services (all at a surcharge), before heading to the restaurant or bar. The hotel has seven meeting rooms, which accommodate between 10-100 people.

Insider tip: Automobile enthusiasts head to Autoworld, a five-block stroll from the hotel across the Parc du Cinquantenaire. This superb collection includes 19th-century motorcars, sporty two-seaters from the 1920s, motorcycles, and even coaches and carriages. Open every day.
