Hotel Information: Operated as a time-share property, the hotel rents guest villas in owners' absences and, with the exception of a restaurant, offers full hotel services, including a concierge, breakfast room, and bar/lounge. Amenity highlights: Completed in 1847, the Custom House was a domed structure, and the tower, with its famous clock, was added in 1912-15. The domed rotunda remains and includes the lobby and a mezzanine housing early-Boston artifacts from the Peabody Museum. A top-floor observation deck offers panoramic city/harbor views. Twice daily, the hotel's concierge conducts a complimentary public tour of the Custom House, and villa guests are invited to join the tour.
Insider tip: The Counting Room, which now serves as a breakfast room and evening bar/lounge, is a two-story room where sailing ships’ captains would pay customs when arriving in Boston Harbor, and soldiers armed with muskets would guard the money from a balcony.

From that floor the workings of the tower's famed clock are visible.
