Located in Boston’s South End, two miles from the downtown city core, the Best Western Roundhouse Suites was originally built in 1828 as a gas tank to hold the gas used to fuel Boston’s lanterns. The building later became a motion-picture hall and was also used for light manufacturing and storage. Vacant for 60 years, the building was transformed into a hotel in 2001. Now, guests enjoy the experience of sleeping in a historic Boston structure.
The hotel provides a discounted airport shuttle service for $5 per person each way. Children under the age of 12 are free. (Discount applies to a maximum two adults per room. Additional adults pay the regular charge of $12.50 each way.) A local shuttle service also operates to nearby subway stations, medical centers, and convention centers. Hotel parking is free.
The business center offers high-speed Internet access and is complimentary for all guests. The hotel has a small fitness center on site, and serves a complimentary Continental breakfast every day.
