Hotel Information: Grotto Bay Beach Hotel, a locally owned resort, features 21 acres of grounds with sloping lawns, forested areas, and flowering gardens. Clientele is primarily couples.
Amenity highlights: Dramatic swimming options include two large underground caves, flooded with saltwater and theatrically lighted to highlight transparent, turquoise water; limestone stalagtites and stalagmites. A 100-yard pink-sand beach runs along the ocean beach, and a large freeform pool is offered just above the beach. There are also two terraces. A nearby garden spa accommodates eight in a secluded setting.
Insider tip: The underground caves are not just for swimmers. It is possible to appreciate the view from wood benches terraced into the walls.
