Hotel Information: Guests enter the historic early 20th century building through gold-framed glass doors into a lobby with wooden walls and a granite floor with purple rugs. Shoppers, leisure travellers and businesspeople seeking respite from the bustle of the Kurfürstendamm lounge in the suede sofa and chairs, while residents take the glass elevator to and from their rooms.

Amenity highlights: Through the wall-to-wall windows of the first floor G-Lounge, guests can watch shoppers on the Kurfürstendamm below. The G-Lounge is open 24 hours and serves cocktails and snacks to guests reclining on leather armchairs and sofas. The lounge is filled with ambient music and guests can use the wireless Internet facility to plan a day’s sightseeing.

Insider tip: From the U-Bahn station Augsburger Strasse, 500 metres from the hotel, guests can take the U3 metro to Krumme Lanke, and walk down to the crystal clear lake located on the edge of the Grünewald. There are small beaches along the lake for swimming in summer, while in winter it often freezes over, providing ideal conditions for ice skating.
