Hotel Information: Semiahmoo Resort stands at the end of a narrow, mile-long ribbon of land, with Drayton Harbor to the south and the wide, sparkling expanse of Semiahmoo Bay to the north. Fishing boats and yachts ply the waters, and gulls soar above. Most days, glacier-clad Mount Baker (10,778 feet) is visible, rising dramatically beyond the harbor. The resort is a popular choice for couples, family getaways, weddings, and corporate gatherings.
Amenity highlights: The resort’s two golf courses are recognized by Golf Digest and other leading publications as among the best in the state. Designed by Arnold Palmer, Semiahmoo Golf & Country Club features immaculate fairways and contoured greens. The Loomis Trail Course offers consistently smooth, fast greens and water in play at every hole. The Spa at Semiahmoo is known for its extensive array of European anti-aging treatments. Two restaurants offer panoramic bay views.
Insider tip: Take a scenic ride on the historic MV Plover passenger ferry between the resort and the Blaine Marina. Built in 1944, the boat was originally used to shuttle workers to a salmon cannery on Semiahmoo Spit. Passengers are treated to views of a working harbor, Mount Baker, abundant wildlife, and, tide permitting, a sunken tugboat. The ferry operates on summer weekends. Rides are free, but donations are gladly accepted.

Recreation
Golf: The resort offers two championship golf courses. Designed by Arnold Palmer, Semiahmoo Golf & Country Club features rolling and generous fairways. At the Loomis Trail Golf Course, an extensive canal and lake system brings water into play on all 18 holes. Semiahmoo is open for resort play on “odd” days of the month, Loomis Trail on “even” days. Complimentary transportation is available to both courses.
Beach, walking trail: A mile-long paved path borders the slender, pebbly beach, affording superb views of the harbor and, on most days, Mount Baker. The path connects with miles of public trails. At the tip of the property, where bay and harbor converge, a pocket-sized sandy beach is ideal for building sandcastles. At low tide, guests can dig for clams or explore tide pools. Beach bonfires are provided for a surcharge.
Swimming pool: Open year-round, the heated outdoor pool includes a lap lane and a small covered area. A sheltered spa tub and Ping-Pong table adjoin the pool.
Health club: The health club offers cardio and weight machines, an indoor running track, and racquetball, basketball, and indoor and outdoor tennis courts. An ADA-certified workout room is on the first floor. Locker rooms have saunas and steam rooms. Aerobics classes and personal training are available for surcharges.
Birding and wildlife: Guests may see eagles, hawks, Great Blue Herons, mallards, osprey, cormorants, and harbor seals. Rabbits hop across the lawns and through the meadows.
Miscellaneous recreation: A sand-volleyball court, horseshoe court, and putting greens overlook the bay. Children can participate in scavenger hunts with prizes. Salmon-fishing charters depart from the resort’s dock from September through November or December.
